Research Administrator

(HEO5) and $77,409 and $86,072 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation (pro-rata)

36 months fixed-term, part-time 0.5 FTE (18.38 hours a week)

Working under general direction of the End Food Waste (EFW) Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Research Director, and in conjunction with the EFW CRC Systems Manager (both UA positions), the Research Coordinator will support the EFW CRC management and participants in the life-cycle of research project administration.

Key roles will include coordinating the submission, evaluation, revision and approval of research project proposals, through to assisting with post award performance monitoring including the quarterly-reporting cycles. These processes are linked to the Smartsheet system, and so regular data entry, retrieval, reporting and maintenance is required. Interpersonal skill will be required to communicate with stakeholders, organise and conduct meetings, record action items and follow-up.

To be successful you will need:

  • Solid computing skills in software programs, such as Microsoft Office, Teams, and different reporting interfaces requiring data entry and extraction
  • Excellent communication skills including well developed interpersonal communication skills and effective active listening skills
  • Developed organizational skills and an ability to ensure well documented systems are adhered to
  • Highly motivated and flexible with a practical, hands-on approach with a demonstrated ability to work under general direction with elements of independence, as part of a team and in collaboration with others
  • Ability to manage time well, without direct supervision
  • Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams to achieve a common goal
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

Previous experience with data entry and extraction from spreadsheets or database software.
