The Library has an opportunity for a staff member to join the Online Precinct team until the 19 July 2024. If you have an interest in and the potential to work in an online environment, and always wondered how this team operates this secondment opportunity is for you. This position is based at the Penrith campus.

About the role
The Online Precinct team ensures a unified and holistic approach to information seeking enquiries and response mechanisms in the online environment. Designed to parallel the service received by clients in each of the campus libraries, it is a single point of all incoming chat, email and phone queries, and is staffed by a small team during advertised hours. The team is highly productive with exceptional customer service skills, and provides a high quality, efficient and accurate Library and information service, using a variety of platforms.

As Acting Online Services Librarian, you will require high level interpersonal skills, including highly developed written and oral communication skills, to enable effective communication with a wide range and level of internal and external clients. Your commitment to high quality client service will be evident, and an expectation of this role. A willingness to learn and develop new skills, including an emphasis on first time resolution or referral to the appropriate unit is paramount. Your ability to prioritise, organise and undertake a range of tasks and duties concurrently will be beneficial and will be further developed in this role.

Working rostered shifts, including weekends and at other campus libraries is a requirement of the position as detailed in the Position Description.

Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at Penrith campus, however as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 5 $94,265 to $106,603 p.a. (comprising Salary of $79,655 to $90,081 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
