PRIMARY DETAIL

Project Manager (MNursing), Faculty of Medicine Health and Human Sciences. A unique and exciting opportunity to work within an innovative and progressive working environment to scope and develop a Master of Nursing degree.

THE ROLE

  • Salary Package : Casual HEW 8 from $78.74 to $87.61 per hour, plus employer's superannuation

  • Appointment Type: Casual, approx 21 hours a week initially (may increase to 28 Hours/week in second half of year)

  • Macquarie University (Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde)

As project manager (MNursing), you will manage and lead the initial scoping, university approval processes and external accreditation of planned Master of Nursing in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences.

The position reports to the Deputy Dean, Education and Employability and will work closely with Faculty and MQ Health executive as well as external advisory board.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an experienced nurse with education and project management expertise. You will bring extensive knowledge, networks and experience of nursing and nurse education in the Australian context. Your ability to work independently and drive initiatives, personal resilience to adapt and operate in an ambiguous, fast-changing and complex environment will be critical to your success in this role. Additionally, you will be a strong communicator, with experience building and managing effective partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

ABOUT US

The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS) is ambitiously pushing the boundaries of progressive thinking and challenging what’s possible to solve some of the big issues of our time, both nationally and on a global scale.

The Faculty forms part of MQ Health, an integrated academic health sciences enterprise which incorporates Macquarie University Hospital and primary and speciality clinics.  The Faculty’s current educational suite includes UG pre-professional courses in clinical sciences, speech and hearing science, chiropractic, psychology and exercise and sports science which provide a pathway to a suite post-graduate professional entry courses. 

Our post graduate courses cover both the disciplines of linguistics and health.  In health, we have nine graduate health courses which allow graduates to enter a range of health professions including chiropractic, clinical audiology, medicine, physiotherapy, speech and language pathology and psychology.  We have active research programs in neurosciences, health systems and patient safety research, cancer medicine, and clinical sciences, amongst others. 

The Faculty continues to grow links with industry by building partnerships with health providers, government, commercial, cultural and professional organisations. Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with registration with Nursing and midwifery Board of Australia

  • Excellent ability to interpret regulatory and governance standards (Higher Education and Nursing and midwifery specific)

  • Well-developed understanding of Nursing Education nationally and internationally including clinical placement requirements

  • Extensive network of professional colleagues in public and private hospital sectors as well as primary and community care.

  • Significant project management experience (preferably within the Higher Education and/or Health context) with expert understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.

  • Expert stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.

  • High level of competency working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office 365, Learning Management Systems, Workday etc

  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and working collaboratively and productively within a team, being innovative and working independently while managing competing demands

Desirable

  • Post-graduate qualifications

  • Significant role in accreditation in health provider environment or University
