About the Role

As the Project Manager will manage a range of projects within Learning Environments, in particular, Flexible Academic Programming (FlexAP) projects . Through these projects you will strategise to enhance the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, and student experience at the University of Melbourne by providing more flexible study options, including fully online, blended and digital study and assessment options. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, managing scope, resources, timelines and risks.  

In this role, you will report to the Program Manager, FlexAP, under broad direction of the Deputy Director, Teaching and Learning Innovation. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage online education development projects through collaboration with academic and professional staff, to achieve high quality outcomes. The incumbent will be expected to use problem solving skills and an expert knowledge of project management (PM) methodologies, to achieve the most effective outcomes 
  • Ensure compliance with established quality standards whilst meeting project timelines and managing project risks. These requirements will be met through the systematic utilisation of suitable PM tools such as software, risk registers, stakeholder maps and production schedules 
  • Use expert project management knowledge to develop new processes for work assignments that facilitate more rapid and consistent development and delivery of online subjects 


About You
You are an enthusiastic and dynamic individual able to simultaneously work across multiple projects while consistently producing high quality standards. Your excellent organisational skills allow you to achieve deadlines and ensure all project objectives are accomplished. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to foster and maintain positive professional working relationships with project teams, and other stakeholders. 

You will also have:

  • A relevant degree with subsequent experience, or extensive experience and specialist expertise or an equivalent combination of experience and education or training 
  • Demonstrated best practice skills and capacity to scope, schedule, develop and deliver projects 
  • Experience in the management and delivery of online learning projects 
  • Knowledge and experience of working within educational media and technologies 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; drawing upon expertise with the project teams and from prior learnings, to provide solutions
