  • Can be based at La Trobe University’s Melbourne (Bundoora) or Victorian regional campuses.
  • HEO8 – TRP $118,289 - $135,268 inclusive of 17% superannuation (Pro-Rata)

About the position

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Graduate and Global Research, and working closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Graduate and Global Research) along with other stakeholders, this role is responsible for managing the University's global research and graduate research partnerships. The incumbent of this role will work with key stakeholders in the development of contemporary and impactful global research partnerships aligned to the University's research strategy.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • A degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles, learned through experience, or a range of management experience, or postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Ability to be responsible for program/system development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
  • Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to form a detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.
  • Experience developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build relationships.
  • Extensive experience in a program management or senior coordination role, providing project, administrative and high-level executive support to senior management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting research engagement in Australia and globally.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and capability to manage several projects in parallel, involving responsibility for program development at an organisational level.
  • High level written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to write background papers, reports, and presentations, and to coordinate the development of program agreements with a high-level attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyse data, including the formulation of evidence-based decisions.
