The University of Adelaide is looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow B for a fixed term appointment of 2 years duration commencing asap.

This position will support our well established and growing collaborative R&D with industry and government agencies focused on developing sovereign capabilities in designing and evaluating large scale distributed systems that leverage advanced sensors and cloud infrastructures and plaforms.

Lead applied R&D for big data softwarised infrastructure

This role will involve the following duties:

  • Conduct research on the assigned proect(s) with minimum supervision either as a member of a team or, where appropriate, indepdently, and the production or contribution to the production of conference and seminar papers and publications
  • Building and evaluating appropriate prototypes/testbeds based on the outcomes of the research to be carried out
  • Attendance at group and project meetings
  • Advice within the field of research to post-graduate students in consultation with the senior researcher

To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or closely related area (completed)
  • Demonstrated ability in conducting and publishing high quality research on one or more of the topics related to Tools for Software Security, Security Platforms, Automation and Orchestration Platforms, and Evaluation of Automation Methods and Tools for Cyber Security.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research activities in software engineering and/or cyber security, more specifically in the area of security automation and software/application security including software patching and related technical tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience or willingness to gain knowledge of the fundamental knowledge areas, challenges, and solutions of secure and integrated platforms and architecture for different domains.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or more programming/scripting technologies for research and development of Secure Software and/or automation tools, including, but not limited to, Python, Bash, PowerShell and X86 Assembly.

The successful candidate will have good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to tailor communication when interacting with a range of stakeholders.
