About The Position
As a Peer Mentoring Officer at RMIT University, you will play a vital role in administering academic peer mentoring programs, collaborating with the Senior Coordinator, Library Concierge and Peer Mentoring to enhance initiatives for RMIT learners.
Your responsibilities include contributing to daily delivery and continuous improvement through digital approaches, participating in agile project teams, and administering end-to-end processes for developing a scalable Peer Mentoring operational model in alignment with the 'Digital First' Library strategy.
Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders to support integrated mentoring and student belonging initiatives, ensuring alignment with the University's strategy. The position requires a dynamic and adaptable cultural approach to meet Library needs, emphasizing evidence-based decision-making, data collection, and analytics to drive change and innovation.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Proven experience in effectively contributing to student-focussed support initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to work systematically and flexibly through change using adaptable work practices to support ‘digital first’ and sustainable work practices.
Proven ability to work independently, use initiative and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
Developed interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups, and contribute to the RMIT Student Community, by discussing ways to influence continual improvements for the student experience.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to team meetings through agility, collaboration, and action.
Ability to present information to various audiences through the collection, manipulation, analysis and presentation of data to inform decision making and enhance reporting.
Proven ability exercising RMIT values and contribution to a positive work culture within a large and complex organisation.

About the Portfolio
The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the
planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT learner experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the learner experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.
The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering learners to access education, participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation. RMIT University Library
RMIT University Library is a creative partner in the achievement of RMIT University’s teaching, learning and research goals. It engages with other groups within the University to design initiatives that have a positive impact on the student experience including the provision of direct support, advice and guidance for students’ academic skill development.

At RMIT Melbourne, the University Library operates from 4 different locations: the Swanston Library; the Bundoora Library; the Carlton Library and Brunswick Library. At RMIT Vietnam, the Library supports the 6,000 students from 2 locations: Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. They provide flexible, networked spaces for individual and group study, computer equipped group study rooms and seminar rooms for academic and library research skills training.
