Base Salary $111K - $126K (HEO8) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney is one of the largest and most preeminent engineering faculties in the world. We are ranked 4th in Australia (THE subject rankings 2022) and 65th globally (QS Rankings by Subject 2021) for engineering and technology. The External Engagement team within the Dean’s Unit is responsible for fostering external partnerships, connecting our leading researchers with industry and government, supporting student educational placement opportunities, and developing an innovative suite of outreach activities.
We are currently seeking an Outreach Manager, who will be the main contact point for the Faculty’s student outreach activities.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- lead the efficient and effective development, delivery and management of initiatives focused on increasing high school student engagement opportunities and widening their participation in Faculty of Engineering programs
- maintain productive relations with external stakeholders and key internal teams
- effectively manage a team that provides general support and coordination to a range of outreach activities focused on nurturing prospective students and maximizing student engagement.

comprehensive knowledge and understanding of higher education market trends
extensive relevant experience in student recruitment/outreach or another relevant area
demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team
experience in supporting and engaging with a diverse group of key stakeholders (internal and external) for the purpose of developing ongoing productive relationships
extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating student outreach strategies and programs
the ability to work under pressure in a fast, deadline-driven working environment with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding performance targets
demonstrated ability for critical and creative thinking to develop and implement innovative solutions to reach outreach profile targets
the ability to achieve tangible stakeholder engagement and fundraising outcomes in a large, complex institution
a goal oriented and self-motivated mindset with an ability to demonstrate accountability, initiative, energy, creativity, and focus in a rapidly changing and intellectually stimulating environment.
