The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment welcomes students from across the globe. We are looking for an enthusiastic Student Transition and Engagement Officer to join our Student Engagement team. This role will organise and deliver activities and events to assist students in adjusting to living and studying in Australia.

As an Officer, Student Transition and Engagement, you will:

  • Support the design, planning and implementation of programs and strategies which are aimed to increase engagement amongst our diverse student population to improve transition, support, progression and retention and therefore a student’s overall success
  • Provide support for students and host organisations to engage students in a range of competitions, conferences and professional activities
  • Participate in faculty-wide projects and any other duties relating to student support which will meet the changing needs of students enrolled in courses within the faculty and commensurate with the scope and classification of the position
  • Build new and productive relationships with a diverse range of, stakeholders or key and influential individuals across the University
  • Strive for excellence and consult regularly with stakeholders to clarify who requires the information, the purpose for which it is required, criteria for success and where and when advice and recommendation is required

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Understanding of the student journey and experience
  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in research, technical, or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Administrative experience working within a large organisation with formal administrative structures, policies and procedures, preferably in a tertiary educational institution
  • Customer service or student administrative experience, preferably in a tertiary educational institution
