(HEO5) $74,289 to $82,603 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Seeking an experienced media or public relations officer who is a strong communicator to work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment, and who is flexible and not afraid to jump into the deep end!

Based in the Media & Corporate Relations team and working under general direction, the Media Officer provides assistance to the Media & Corporate Relations team, and across the broader Division as required. This is a diverse role that provides daily media reports to key stakeholders, and will be expected to write straight forward media releases. The role is a first point of contact for the team, and triages requests from the media and other channels such as The Conversation.

As expected in any media role, there will be the need that the successful candidate is flexible in regard to work hours, as not everything happens during the standard hours.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated ability to display high level writing/editing skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, confident presentation, approachability and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Experience with digital media content and delivery, including social media.
  • Excellent attention to detail, demonstrated problem solving capability and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven ability to actively contribute to a collaborative, dynamic team and adapt to change in the workplace.
