Overview

Our University Preparation Courses (UniPrep) prepare students for University study by teaching them essential study skills. UniPrep offers students the time and space to become familiar with university life and study before students start their undergraduate course.
Academic Pathway Programs is responsible for delivering high quality enabling programs that meet the needs of pre-tertiary students, schools and communities. A key focus of the area is creating university pathways for diverse cohorts of students in metropolitan and regional contexts.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced educator with a passion for assisting students to reach their full potential, to join our innovative, energetic, forward-thinking team at our South West campus. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to make a difference at ECU through innovation in teaching and learning.
This position will be primarily focused on the coordination and development of the UniPrep Schools program working with high schools in regional areas. The position works closely with the UniPrep Schools Coordinators and Course Coordinator to provide support to secondary schools in the program. The position will also include preparation and delivery of teaching, and associated administrative duties, within the UniPrep program at ECU, including on the regional campus and online. The position will contribute to the development of curricula, whilst also carrying out activities to develop and maintain scholarly expertise related to teaching and learning in the discipline.
Applicants should have a sound professional and academic track record in any combination of mathematics, chemistry, biology, academic writing, critical thinking and/or academic skills, hold a postgraduate qualification at master’s level or equivalent experience as a minimum, demonstrate education and research experience within a tertiary or practice education setting, and experience of teaching or understanding of secondary schooling.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate skills and achievement in supporting students’ transition to university, and a good understanding of how to support students facing additional barriers to success in university studies.
Travel will be a requirement for this position.

Benefits & Remuneration
This part-time, fixed-term position attracts remuneration of $75,193 - $100,797 plus superannuation. Salary rates are effective as of the 14 October 2022.
