About the position

A Level B academic with a teaching focused appointment will be responsible for developing curriculum, coordinating subjects, teaching, assessing work, supervising students as they learn clinical skills, and contributing to the administrative functions of the discipline of psychology, as well as undertaking scholarly work relevant to the development of learning and teaching in this discipline.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and teaching high quality learning experiences that engage students through the conduct of tutorials, practical classes and workshops. You may also supervise students undertaking clinical training. Teaching may cover a range of topics but applicants with expertise in child and adolescent mental health are particularly encouraged to apply, as are applicants based near one of our regional campuses; at Bendigo or in the Albury Wodonga region.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • PhD or Masters degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline area.
  • Full registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in teaching and curriculum development in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by, for example, high results on student feedback on teaching surveys relative to their peers, or through other forms of evidence.
  • Extensive clinical experience in the area of child and adolescent mental health. Approval or eligibility for approval as a supervising psychologist at the higher degree program level by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) would be an advantage.
