About the Role 

The Lecturer in Emergency Nursing will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of Nursing topics in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. They will be responsible for making an independent contribution to teaching and the scholarship of teaching using innovations in teaching practices and technologies to deliver excellence in teaching. You will provide support, academic counselling and professional advice to students concerning their studies, professional development, and career opportunities. 

The ideal candidate will be contributing to the planning and evaluation and will undertake the role of Topic Coordinator as required.

This role requires prioritisation and coordination skills, while you monitor workflow and provide informal day‐to-day feedback to all staff under your supervision according to the University’s policies, practices, and standards.

About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

Lecturer in Emergency Nursing (Academic) 

  • Excellence in teaching at a tertiary level. 
  • Evidence of reflective practice. 
  • An understanding of curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities, as appropriate. 
  • Evidence of an independent contribution to the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies, including student assessment. 
  • An understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship and practice.

The ideal candidate will also have Completed a PhD or EdD (or equivalent qualification) is required. 

Lecturer in Emergency Nursing (Clinical/Practitioner) 

  • Excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level. 
  • Relevant and contemporary clinical experience in a relevant field and the ability to maintain concurrently within or outside of this position. 
  • Evidence of reflective practice. 
  • Evidence of an independent contribution to the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies, including student assessment. 
  • An understanding of curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.

The ideal candidate will have completed a Doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent clinical experience and professional standing in Emergency Nursing and have a Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing
