As a Lecturer, you will:

  • Demonstrate excellent scholarly learning and teaching at a higher education level (including for example in the cloud and in clinical settings)
  • Make a contribution to the moderation and maintenance of academic standards, and the development of course and unit curriculum that exemplifies Deakin’s curriculum framework, to meet external requirements such as the Higher Education Standards Framework and professional accreditation
  • Design and implement best practice assessment of student learning outcomes, and participating in assessment panels
  • Counsel and mentor students, including referring students to University services
  • Provide leadership in teaching and learning through roles such as Unit Chair
  • Contribute to the School’s research and publication profile.                                                                   

To be successful, you’ll:

  • Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered nurse
  • Hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
  • Have an excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
  • Have an emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding ability to make a contribution to community engagement for research and teaching capacity to contribute to leadership of teaching, research and/or administration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
