  • Base Salary from $110,856 pro rata + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The Northern Clinical School is looking for a Lecturer, Clinical Education, to be based at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai hospital.  You will be a practitioner who has teaching experience and is respected within your field.  Your main focus as the Lecturer, Clinical Education will be your passion for teaching followed by excellent student support.

You will be available for 7.5 hours per week.  There is scope for flexibility with regard to the days and hours that you will work, however, the hours must align with days that the students are at the hospital.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • contribute to outstanding clinical education design, delivery and evaluation outcomes

  • apply your clinical knowledge and expertise to innovate teaching and learning

  • contribute to the education and administrative activities at the Northern Clinical School

  • contribute to a positive workplace and culture

  • contribute to the strategic direction of the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney.

About you:

  • will have an MD/MBBS with at least 4 years post primary health qualification (intern/basic/physician/GP/surgical training)

  • ideally be currently working at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai hospital and/or have established professional relationships within the hospital

  • have significant experience working in a clinical setting and a proven ability to apply expertise and knowledge to inform pedagogical practice

  • be registered with AHPRA or equivalent professional bodies

  • have experience in teaching and learning in a tertiary environment

  • have demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives with a clinical focus

  • have a demonstrated capacity to stimulate, actively engage and educate students in the profession of outstanding patient care.
