About the opportunity
As the Learning Success Advisor (Language and Learning), you will act as an integral member of a team of specialist professional staff focusing on providing quality student facing support. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for the facilitation of post-entry academic language and learning support initiatives for all students (domestic and international, undergraduate and post-graduate).
Your key responsibilities will be to:
work within a dynamic team, reporting to the Learning Hub Lead
design and create learning and teaching materials for the area
contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of post-entry academic language and learning support initiatives for all students through providing specialist guidance and advice
deliver learning support, advising and training activities to students, peer-facilitators and staff for up to 20 hours a week
work collaboratively with the Learning Hub Lead, Learning Success Advisors and colleagues across CET + Learning Hub to ensure effective contribution to learning support programs and initiatives
contribute to and engage actively with the post-entry academic language and learning community beyond the University to further the reputation of the University.
About you
post graduate qualifications and/or relevant work experience in a related field (e.g., applied linguistics, Higher Education, TESOL)
experience facilitating learning support initiatives within the higher education/knowledge sector
experience in developing and facilitating high-quality, innovative programs to support post-entry academic language and learning
theoretical and practical understanding of effective educational practice in the post-entry, higher education space
demonstrated experience in designing and delivering discipline-specific academic language support programs
experience using learning analytics to inform learning design, support student progress and monitor student outcomes
experience using innovative educational technology platforms to facilitate language and communication support to diverse cohorts of students.
