Overview:

  • Part Time 0.6 FTE (21.6 hours per week), Continuing Position

  • Salary Level HEW 6 + 17% Superannuation and hybrid ways of working

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the Role

As Learning Librarian, Learning Services, you will work collaboratively to support the Information Literacy Librarians in designing and delivering workshops to enhance students’ digital and face-to-face literacy skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality information services online through the Ask the Library ‘live chat’ service and in-person appointments across libraries in Study Support Hubs.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Degree or Associate Diploma/Diploma of Library and Information Studies or equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of digital information literacy classes

  • Experience in the development of digital learning objects to support the learning needs of students and staff

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality library information and referral services online using “live chat” and in person

  • Strong computer literacy skills and experience with digital learning resources

  • Sound organisational and time management skills to deliver agreed outcomes

  • Experience working within a project-based environment would be advantageous

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

About the Portfolio

At RMIT Melbourne, the University Library operates from 4 different locations: the Swanston Library; the Bundoora Library; the Carlton Library and Brunswick Library. At RMIT Vietnam, the Library supports the 6,000 students from 2 locations: Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. They provide flexible, networked spaces for individual and group study, computer equipped group study rooms and seminar rooms for academic and library research skills training.
