POSITION SUMMARY

The Learning Designer (LD) is a member of the Learning & Teaching team and is responsible for the design, build and delivery of digital teaching and learning content from concept to publication. The LD will work in close collaboration with subject matter experts to develop, design and manage the build of fully online, blended and concurrent/hyflex courses whilst also supporting capability building on a one-to-one basis. The LD will also be responsible for developing and delivering workshops and support materials to build capacity for online learning amongst the broader academic community at RMIT. The LD will contribute to the development of templates, course shells and other digital resources to ensure quality and consistency across all online learning products at RMIT. The LD will contribute to the University’s overall digital learning and teaching strategic initiatives through participation in various forums and collaborative initiatives. While reporting to the Manager, Online Learning, the LD is also expected to work with other staff members and stakeholders across the University to support the larger portfolio. Other similar duties may also be required from time to time.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in one of learning and/or assessment design, online education, TESOL, teaching or education or equivalent experience relevant to the area of learning design.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a learning design, teaching or higher education role.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 6.0  (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines). 
For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
