Newly established role leading the School of Biomedicine.

Fixed-term contract available for five years in the first instance.

The School of Biomedicine was created in 2021 and is one of eight schools that comprise the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The School offers a range of world-class programs that produce the next generation of biomedicine scientists, doctors and health professionals. The School brings together disciplines of Anatomy & Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology and Reproduction and Development and will be a hive of vibrant research, with the intention of attracting competitive grant support. Research will be undertaken in the areas of addiction studies, medical sciences, and reproduction and development.

To be successful you will need:

  • A record of academic distinction and significant professional standing within the discipline, including a PhD in an area relevant to the discipline.
  • Track record of external research funding.
  • Established reputation as a respected leader including experience in strategy development and planning, leading change, and evidence of an effective contribution to a leadership team. 
  • Evidence of an inspirational leadership style which promotes a culture of high performance engagement and commitment.
  • A strong and demonstrated commitment to excellence and leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
  • The ability to effectively manage relevant operational aspects of a School including demonstrated financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge meaningful external relationships and represent the School, Faculty and the University locally, nationally and internationally, to community, industry and other academic institutions and partners.
