Overview
The Finance and Business Services Centre (FBSC) Finances Team have the primary responsibility to deliver high quality financial management and business support to their clients through the following activities:

  • Support the Deans, Directors and other executives in the achievement of the University’s strategic objectives;
  • Provide financial leadership and direction, specifically in relation to budgeting /forecasting, student load planning, management reporting, performance monitoring, business development and asset management;
  • Offer financial leadership in research initiatives, encompassing revenue generation, financial management, and acquittal processes; and
  • Ensure consistent application of finance processes and procedures.

FBSC have three (3) Finance Teams and are looking to fill a Finance Business Partner role in each of those teams, who will report to the teams Finance Manager. The Finance Business Partner role is to provide specialist financial information and advice, quality management reporting, planning and financial services supported by quality analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision making and planning. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective distribution of funds while adhering to financial regulations and policies, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance in financial processes. The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders is critical to the success of this role.

The ideal candidate will have:

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (typically Business, Commerce or Management) with a major in Accounting or Finance with membership to a professional accounting body. 

Experience: 

  •  An extensive record in financial or management accounting within a large, complex and/or diverse organisation, demonstrated experience in cost accounting, performance reporting, combined with a strong analytical and business orientation to contribute to the decision-making process of management.
  • Experience in partnering with business unit leadership to better understand, analyse and interpret business performance including process improvement and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced proficiency in using MS office suite, a large ERP system (Oracle and TM1 preference) and Enterprise Information systems.

    Benefits & Remuneration
    These full time, ongoing positions attracts remuneration of $111,152 to $125,191pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
