About the Role
As a Faculty Librarian, you'll lead collaboration with Faculties and Schools to enhance library services and resources that support research, learning, and teaching. Your role involves partnering with key faculty stakeholders, including academics and professional staff, to design programs aligned with University priorities. Leading a team of librarians, you'll ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable initiatives that align with research and teaching goals. Your collaborative efforts will extend to various programs, including Library Services & Spaces, Research & Collections, and Scholarly Development, contributing to the university's strategic directions. 

This position focuses on the business, economics, and education disciplines and is primarily based at the Parkville campus.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and directing libraryliaison services for business, economics, and education disciplines, advancing the University and faculty's strategic teaching, learning, and research objectives. 
  • Leading strategic stakeholder-library engagement, forging partnerships with academics, researchers, Scholarly Services colleagues, and professional staff. 
  • Developing and delivering effective services and strategic initiatives collaboratively. 
  • Leading the team of liaison librarians, emphasising effectiveness, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for an experienced librarian with a proven ability for strategic thinking and innovation. You will have a track record of leveraging technology, initiating innovative library programs, and forging strategic partnerships. If you have a passion for leading collaborative teams, implementing workplace change, and envisioning long-term library strategies, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of our dynamic and responsive library services.

You will also have:

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline, along with substantial management experience or an equivalent blend of education and relevant practical experience.

  • Eligibility for associate membership in the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). 
  • Extensive experience in efficiently managing library services within higher education, encompassing the development of library collections and enhancing information research skills across diverse university audiences. 
  • Proven capacity to effectively build relationships and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
