The Australian Plant Phenomics Facility (APPF) is a national research facility established in 2009 as part of the Commonwealth National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy. The Adelaide node of the APPF, known as The Plant Accelerator® , is located on the University of Adelaide’s Waite Campus, and is a world leading plant growth and analysis facility fitted with high quality plant growth environments and state-of-the-art high-throughput imaging and data analysis technology.

The Plant Accelerator® is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to complement our established team. The Equipment Maintenance Manager will manage and coordinate the maintenance, service and repair of the facility’s infrastructure, including the built environment and specialised equipment. The role is responsible for managing and maintaining the controlled environment rooms, wireless environmental monitoring system, and building management system; supporting user enquiries regarding environmental controls and sensor networks, and maintaining the equipment maintenance register and service schedule. The role may also assist with the coordination of equipment upgrades or installation of new equipment.

To be successful you will need:

  • A degree (or advanced trade qualification) with at least four years subsequent relevant experience in engineering or building and equipment maintenance (electrical and/or mechanical); or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating contractual maintenance and repair services.
  • Experience in the operation of building management systems.
  • Familiarity with operating various environmental and lighting control software systems.
  • Well-developed diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
