THE ROLE

Campus Life is currently seeking Qualified Diploma Educators to join the team at Banksia Cottage.

Reporting to the Centre Manager or ECT, Room Leader, you will draw on your extensive experience in planning and evaluating high quality educational programs with a proven understanding of pedagogy and best practice in early childhood. As a Diploma trained educator, you will support the Early Childhood Teacher (Room Leader) in the development, implementation and evaluation of high-quality educational programs whilst providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children. Working at our Banksia cottage means you will join a fun and inclusive team of dedicated early childhood professionals focused on the provision of high-quality innovative programs.

  • With guidance from the Program & Practice Support Teacher and the Early Childhood Teacher, actively contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a high-quality educational program that is inclusive of all children
  • Demonstrated experience working with children from diverse backgrounds between the ages of 0-5 years
  • Contribute to the assessment and recording of the developmental progress of designated children
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and actively assist the centre team to Meet (at a minimum) the National Quality Standards
  • Act as Responsible Person if required, assuming all related responsibilities as per the Education and Care Services National Regulations
  • Act as Room Leader if required, assuming all related responsibilities including mentoring and coaching of staff, working to deadlines, communicate effectively and giving performance feedback.
  • Work with the Early Childhood Teacher and Centre Manager to develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence the culture and team within a setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and a commitment to professional development.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral with an ability to work across a large, diverse team.


Regulatory requirements:

  • ACECQA approved Diploma in early childhood education
  • Approved First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualification
  • Working with Children Check
  • Approved Identify and respond to children and young people at risk of harm qualification
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia
