About You

Reporting to the Chief Experience Officer, the Director, Global Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of the global RMIT marketing and brand strategy. The role will require extensive collaboration across the University, including the entities across RMIT Group, to deliver a broad range of marketing strategies targeting domestic and international markets to drive student acquisition and brand resonance.

The Director, Global Marketing is accountable for maximizing commercial return from marketing investments, as well as drive RMIT’s data-driven leads marketing and leads management program. The Director is a key enabler of staff and student experience, communicating the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the University in a way that is inspiring, student-centric, and that encourages a culture of diversity and inclusion, innovation, and a shared commitment to achieving objectives.

As a valued member of the Experience Executive team, the Director, Global Marketing is responsible for delivering on the marketing, brand, and strategic objectives of the Experience Group.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Extensive experience in shaping, delivering and leading data led marketing strategies and effectively delivering commercial outcomes. 
  • Proven leadership experience at a senior level; together with flexibility, capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and environments and, when necessary, navigating through ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated marketing and commercial acumen at an executive level within an organisation. 
  • Deep expertise in designing and evolving operating models that includes an ability to build a high performing team, and ability to work cross functionally to achieve desired outcomes. 
  • Excellent communication skills with outstanding negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters.
  • Ability to build significant and sustainable relationships at all levels of the organisation, including the ability to present and engage with senior executive team (C Suite) and at Board level.
  • Strong values-based leadership supported by high levels of staff engagement.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in comparable leadership roles.

About the International and Engagement Portfolio

The International and Engagement portfolio is responsible for RMIT’s international strategy and agenda, including international development and partnerships and oversight of our international operations including RMIT Vietnam and RMIT Europe. It also incorporates the university’s key engagement functions including communications, experience (global marketing, global student recruitment, alumni), and business development and partnerships.

The Experience function’s vision is to bring to life RMIT’s strategy by putting the student and all of RMIT’s audiences at the heart of everything that we do and delivering a CX vision and insights to help guide the University deliver on our promise. The function is responsible for Global Marketing and our Brand, Digital and CX, Student Recruitment and Admissions, Market Intelligence and Propositions (product and pricing strategy), Alumni and Engagement. The 300+ Experience team who are based across Australia, Vietnam, India and several other hubs, strive to deliver amazing experiences for all of our audiences through contemporary ways of working.
