It is the largest business and law entity in the Asia Pacific, comprising five schools across Melbourne and Vietnam, offering diverse programs from undergraduate to PhD levels.

With more than 1,000 staff, the College serves 30,000 students globally through on-campus and online delivery, including fly in-fly out teaching with partners in Singapore and Shanghai. Most of the areas of research are ranked in the top quartile of Australian Universities, with some in the top 100 globally.  


 


Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Alec Cameron, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Business and Law) & Vice-President (DVC & VP) provides strategic leadership and direction in all aspects of the College’s research and research training, teaching, and learning, professional activities and community engagement.

As a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive, the DVC (Business & Law) & VP is called upon to share in stewardship of the University’s purpose, vision and values. The appointment calls for truly effective leadership and management across the College’s five schools in Melbourne and Vietnam.   


 


The University seeks to appoint a DVC (Business & Law) & VP who will bring substantial leadership experience in academia and/or industry, and a relevant career in research. Key focus areas include fostering a culture of innovation, enhancing the student experience, and developing strategic relationships with external partners.

A dynamic leader with an interdisciplinary orientation, the DVC (Business & Law) & VP will bring a passion for learning and teaching, industry connection and the ability to operate strategically, effectively and collegially. High level academic credibility, motivation and team leadership competencies, and demonstrated skills in managing the people, financial and infrastructure performance of a large and complex academic college are expected.
