About you

We're actively searching for a distinguished professional to become a cornerstone of our leadership as the Deputy Executive Dean (Research Partnerships). In this pivotal role, you'll stand beside the Executive Dean, sharing the responsibility of driving our faculty's vision and objectives to new heights. The Deputy Executive Dean (Research Partnerships) is a member of the FMH leadership team and has strategic and operational oversight of the Faculty's seven Flagship research centres (Research centres - Faculty of Medicine and Health (sydney.edu.au) . In addition, the DED-RP works closely with internal University centres and its affiliated Medical Research Institutes. Through these responsibilities and relationships, the DED-RP plays pivotal role in shaping and executing research strategies of the Faculty and University.

This position reports directly to the Executive Dean and Pro-Vice Chancellor, FMH, We're seeking a candidate who boasts a distinguished track record in research, academic leadership and administration. They must have the experience and confidence to lead large scale and complex multi-institutional research endeavours. It is preferred that the candidate has experience and credibility in clinical and/or health services and/or public health research. A PhD with international acclaim in a pertinent field is a must. Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and operational acumen - including compliance - is vital.

Term and remuneration

The successful candidate will be offered a 5-year fixed term position, subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. There is opportunity for further appointments subject to performance and funding. The successful candidate will be offered an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
