(Level A) $75,888 to $102,040 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term, full time position available for 2 years.

Data scientist within the Primary Care and Health Services Research Group.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist with expertise in machine learning models, particularly in the areas of classification and predictive modelling.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applying data science techniques to electronic health records and developing innovative solutions for research on the diagnosis and management of health conditions.

To be successful you will need: 

  • Bachelor degree and Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Stata, Python, SQL and/or R.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and deploying machine learning models of Classification and Predictive Modelling and Recommender Systems.
  • Experience with relevant machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Proven evidence of translating machine learning models into actionable insights.
