Overview
The Business, Growth and Development directorate is responsible for coordinating and implementing the business growth strategy for ECU. With input from Schools and Service Centres, this directorate provides the University with insight-driven understanding of the needs, behaviours and values that influence the decisions of future students. These insights are used to effectively maximise all student recruitment opportunities, proactively creating commercially viable opportunities and target market segments.
The Future Student Engagements team, embedded within this directorate, is driven by the genuine desire to help future students transform their lives through education. The team employs a variety of sales and marketing strategies aimed at targeting prospective student cohorts, and their key influencers, and to position ECU as a leading public university in WA. The team is instrumental in promoting ECU’s courses, providing advice on admission requirements and information about entry pathways. The team also plays a pivotal role in managing the University's relationships with high school career counsellors, VET academics, industry partners and other education providers.
This position is responsible for actively participating in activities and services related to recruitment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to the University. This includes but is not limited to: visiting and presenting to schools, colleges, registered training organisations and other groups, and promoting ECU as a preferred higher education provider to our potential students.
What you’ll do:
• Develop presentations and present information to a diverse range of prospective students to foster interest in ECU as preferred higher education provider
• Input/maintain information on prospective students in the customer relationship management system, to enable the identification of prospective students
• Provide a promotional and advisory/consultative role aimed at individuals and their key influencers, matching customer needs with ECU products, and, where possible, being the advocate for the student and assisting them in successfully applying and enrolling to study with ECU
• Develop, organise and attend Future Student Engagement activities and events, working closely with Kurongkurl Katitjin, ECU Schools, and other professional service areas (i.e. Corporate Events when required)
• Develop and account manage allocated ECU Schools and act as a relationship manager between Future Student Engagements Team and the ECU Schools
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant onshore stakeholders and pathway providers, industry contacts, High School Career Counselors, and VET academics in order to foster interest in ECU as a preferred higher education provider and contribute to the recruitment strategy and marketing plans
Key Criteria:
• Previous experience in an event coordination or sales and marketing role, preferably within the higher education sector
• Strong focus on all aspects of customer service, including achieving quality outcomes, identifying and meeting customer needs, continually evaluating and improving customer service
• Ability to organise and present information in a concise, understandable, and interesting format for a variety of audiences
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse key stakeholders and develop those relationships into business growth opportunities
• Highly developed ability to plan, time manage and organise small to large Future Student Engagement activities with limited resources
• A strong customer service ethos with ability to add value to every interaction
• Ability to be flexible and proactive in a small team environment
Specific requirements:
• Valid Driver’s license
• Ability to work 5 days a week
• Ability and willingness to work outside of standard business hours (including some weekends) and undertake travel as required
• Ability to undertake tasks which require some manual handling of materials and light equipment (e.g. packing/unpacking materials and banners)
• Valid Working with Children Check
Undergraduate qualifications or progress towards undergraduate qualifications and a strong understanding of the West Australian education sector will be highly regarded.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, fixed term position attracts salary of $82,658 - $89,180 pa (HEW 6) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
