Part-time Salary: Level B: $110,236 - $130,900 p.a. (pro rata), plus a clinical loading $9,825 p.a. (pro rata) for dentally qualified academics. plus  17% Superannuation
Casual Hourly Rate – Level B: $74.49 - $88.45 plus 11% Superannuation 

• Provide clinical supervision and teaching in periodontics within the Melbourne Dental School, primarily for the Doctor of Dental Surgery program

About the Role 
Providing clinical supervision and teaching in the Melbourne Dental School, primarily in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program. Responsibilities include contributing to preclinical and clinical learning, delivering lectures, and supporting students in evidence-based dentistry. This position reports to the Head of Periodontics Dentistry and supports the School's various dental programs. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide preclinical and clinical practice leadership and education to students, and at times provide coverage for subject coordinators and content convenors who may be on leave.
• Develop and contribute to a high standard of teaching to students undertaking a clinical degree program.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and seminars, and other learning and teaching duties, as required.
• Participate in continued professional development in learning and teaching as identified to enable you to fulfill your position requirements.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of diverse clinical experience, strong teaching skills, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Desirable qualifications include a specialist qualification in Periodontics and experience with student assessment and feedback. Additionally, they must meet specific regulatory and credentialing requirements.

You will also have:

• A primary dental qualification registrable with the Dental Board of Australia and current AHPRA registration (No previous or current AHPRA conditions).
• Demonstrated clinical teaching experience specifically with students undertaking tertiary dental education.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse students and patients.
• Clinical practice skills supported by contemporary evidence-based dental practice.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
