  • Seeking applications from art and design curriculum writers with experience in teaching senior secondary school students, including international students, art, design and architecture courses to develop the course Multimedia .

About Foundation Studies

The RMIT Foundation Studies Program a pre-tertiary pathway program consisting of courses comparable in standard to an Australian Year 12 curriculum. It is a nationally recognised program that equips international students with the skills and capabilities to seek entry into higher education programs in Australia. This program is designed to prepare students for a seamless transition into a range of higher education programs. It develops a mix of discipline knowledge, academic English and study skills in a supportive, flexible and learner-centred environment. It aims to assist students to become independent, critical and lifelong learners and to maximise their potential for success in an Australian university context.  

About the Role

The Casual Foundation Studies Curriculum Writer Art, Design and Architecture (ADA): Multimedia will work with the Curriculum Team Leader ADA and ADA teachers to develop the course Multimedia as part of the new Foundation Studies program.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have:

Essential 

  • A recognised degree relevant to the course being developed plus:
  • A formal qualification in the delivery of education AND
  • Minimum two years’ relevant teaching experience, including breadth of experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in course development
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in delivering and assessing Art, Design and Architecture courses
  • Experience in relevant industry and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position
  • Proven collegiality and the ability to share ideas
  • Knowledge of current pedagogical practices
  • Experience with the LMS CANVAS.

Desirable 

  • Experience teaching secondary school subjects
  • Experience teaching international students in a secondary school setting
  • TESOL (English Language Teaching Qualification) for teacher responsible for non-English subject areas.
