Biostatistician

(Level B/C) $102,952 to $144,368 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term full time position available for 1 year.

The Biostatistician will be responsible for preparation, analysis, interpretation and reporting of data from the large clinical research projects undertaken within the Lifelong Health Research group.

The Biostatistician will provide statistical advice, analysis and interpretation contributing to publication of clinically relevant research findings in the field of pregnancy and early childhood health.

Led by Professor Jodie Dodd, the Lifelong Health Research Group strives to ensure that care for women and their infants is effective, and that treatment benefits outweigh harms. The Group has led pivotal randomised controlled trials involving pregnant women, investigating interventions to reduce the risk of adverse pregnancy and infant outcomes.

The Biostatistician will work closely within an interdisciplinary team requiring excellent communication and organisational skills, to facilitate the timely progression of clinical research projects and their publication.

To be successful you will need:

• Masters or doctoral level degree in biostatistics or related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practice standards for the conduct, analysis and reporting of clinical trials.
• High level organisational skills, including the ability to work flexibly across multiple projects and successfully prioritise competing tasks.
• Experience in writing statistical analysis plans and managing large and complex datasets, including analysing longitudinal data.
• Proficiency in R and/or Stata programs and the ability to learn and apply new statistical methods.
