(HE06) $86,360 to $93,285 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term, full time position available for 12 months.

Working under general direction of the Senior Biostatistician, the Biostatistician will be involved in providing statistical expertise to the Environmental Determinant of Islet Autoimmunity (ENDIA) Study. ENDIA is an internationally unique longitudinal, prospective cohort study aimed at identifying the environmental triggers of type 1 diabetes with recruitment beginning in pregnancy (www.endia.org.au ). The Study, which is the flagship project of the Centre of Research Excellence for the Protection of Pancreatic Beta Cells within the Adelaide Medical School, involves a collaborative network of eight clinical centres and nine academic institutions across Australia. Members of the ENDIA Study team include clinicians, scientists, biostatisticians, bioinformaticians, nurses, dietitians, technicians, administrators and students.

The key responsibility of the Biostatistician will be to assist in data cleaning, integration and extraction; analysis planning, conduct and reporting from the multidisciplinary research investigations generated within the ENDIA study. This is a great opportunity for the candidate to become a part of the local and wider ENDIA Study Team which encompasses leading academic and research institutes across Australia.

To be successful you will need:

• Knowledge of applied statistical methods in health and medical research.
• Demonstrated programming experience in the statistical software program R.
• Experience working with complex relational databases.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise work and work independently as appropriate.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work collegially as part of a team and with a wide range of stakeholders.

This position requires a valid DHS Working with Children Check.
