The Opportunity
Monash University's School of Psychological Sciences is seeking an exceptional Associate Professor or Professor of Psychology to join our esteemed team. The School of Psychological Sciences has an ambitious vision – to transform the field of psychology to optimise psychological health for all. This vision is achieved through world-class research, education, and training in psychology across the lifespan for positive community impact; and through creating an innovative, responsive, collaborative, and inclusive research, teaching and learning culture with students, staff, and communities. In just 60 years, the School of Psychological Sciences is now ranked in the top 50 globally for the subject area of Psychology.
Some major research opportunities through the School of Psychological Sciences are the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health, the Monash Epworth Rehabilitation Research Centre and the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Optimal Ageing.
As an Associate Professor or Professor of Psychology, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the School’s research and education missions. You will have the opportunity to engage in innovative research, mentor and inspire students, and contribute to education innovation and leadership. You will be expected to lead a world-class research program, publish in top-tier journals, secure significant external funding, engage with significant external stakeholders, teach and supervise at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and actively participate in collaborative initiatives within the School and beyond.
We are seeking an exceptional scholar who possesses the following qualifications:
- A PhD in Psychology or a cognate discipline
- Expertise in advanced data analytical methods
- Successful acquisition of research grants, emphasising a commitment to advancing psychological science in an area of research aligned with the research programs of the School
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Experience with external stakeholder engagement support research activities
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds
