The WA Data Science Innovation Hub (WADSIH) is dedicated to keeping Western Australia ahead in the digital revolution by enhancing data science uptake, education, training, and awareness. The mission is to cultivate a data-driven ecosystem and culture that fosters job growth, collaboration, expertise, and data literacy across the community, industry, academia, and government. By serving as a vital link between industry, government, and academia, WADSIH connects resources and capabilities to propel data science applications forward in Western Australia. WADSIH is jointly funded by the Government of Western Australia's New Industries Fund and Curtin University.


Your new role
  

We are seeking an Administrative Support Officer to provide administrative and logistical support to our WA Data Science Innovation Hub team. This role will be based at our Curtin Bentley Campus where you will have the opportunity to grow your network and skills, in an agile and fastmoving organisation.

This role is a part-time, fixed term 2-year contract with a commitment of 22.5 hours a week over a minimum of 4 days, offering flexible hours and adaptable working arrangements.


In this role, you will:
  • Respond to incoming enquiries and requests in a proactive, accurate, customer-focused and professional manner.
  • Assist with invoicing, receipting, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare documentation (e.g. reports, minutes of meetings, correspondence), using the full range and features of MS Office applications, in accordance with the requirements and standards of the work unit.
  • Organise meetings and appointments, managing attendees, venues, and catering arrangements efficiently, potentially overseeing diary management for other staff members.
  • Procure consumables and partner resources within financial limits, consulting relevant staff as needed.
  • Maintain and update records using the established management system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Manage and organise team travel.
We are looking for (the ideal candidate):
  • Completion of a diploma qualification with relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy with proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with financial administration processes including invoicing, purchase orders, reconciliations, and receipting.
  • Experience working in the Higher Education sector (desired).
  • Must have a valid driving license and a vehicle.
As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
