  • Level 5, full-time appointment on a 6-month fixed term basis.
  • Base salary range: $76,422 – $84,705 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the team
The School of Allied Health, within the College of Schools at The University of Western Australia, is a research and teaching intensive organisation giving material expression to the belief that excellence in research underpins excellence in teaching and community partnerships. The School has a reputation for a strong evidence-based approach to research and education that is used for policy and practice development. The School aspires to be a workplace within which staff and students feel valued and supported in their individual and collective efforts to improve community health and wellbeing. The Discipline of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery is located in the School and offers postgraduate degrees in Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Doctor of Podiatric Surgery to students who meet eligibility requirements. To facilitate teaching there are two public facing clinical areas and a licenced day surgery hospital.

About the opportunity
As the appointee you will, under general direction, provide expertise in a wide variety of administrative duties to support the relevant teaching clinics and hospital activity within the division of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level within public facing health care settings.
  • Experience in developing theatre lists for planned hospital and day surgery activities.
  • Experience with medical software packages, for example, Genie Medical Practice software.
  • Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with a range of people at all levels and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to meet conflicting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, show initiative and work productively as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle cash, cheques, EFTPOS and credit card payments.
  • Ability to bank cash and cheques as required.
  • Commitment to providing a high level of quality customer service.
