  • Base Salary $91k - $98k (HEO6) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The School of Chemistry is welcoming applications for an experienced Research Administration Officer to provide a range of administrative services to support the research activities, environment and performance of the School.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide administration in relevant contexts such as supporting research projects, ethics submissions and grant applications

  • provide administrative services and support for ethics submissions/reporting under the guidance of the Chief Investigators

  • communicate information with internal colleagues regarding School research activities

  • coordinate and update research information for the School

  • undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.

  • extensive experience in providing administrative services on research projects, ethics submissions and grant applications

  • the ability to provide administrative services and support in research data collection, grant applications, and ongoing reporting for the School

  • advanced skills in Microsoft Office and ability to update Canvas and other web-based apps

  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational and administrative matters

  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement

  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and prioritise workload during busy periods.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
