About the Role
As the Academic Programs Officer at the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, you'll play a crucial role in managing and administering academic programs, ensuring a high-quality educational experience for students. Collaborating closely with the Academic Programs Team and reporting to the Academic Programs Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day coordination of teaching and learning activities, facilitate administrative tasks, and foster key relationships within the school and across the university.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high level support for academic staff members in relation to teaching matters including liaising with them. Ensure all aspects of subject set-up are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Be responsible for preparing examination board information, and for organising supplementary assessment on the recommendation of Boards of Examiners and coordination Student Progress Committees of the School.
  • Responsibility for examination, special consideration and result processing procedures in line with university policy including the need for confidential management of student records.
  • Provide administrative support on research experience program (REP) and graduate research matters including admissions, enrolments.

Your ability to efficiently plan, organize, and manage competing priorities within a dynamic environment will drive positive organisational outcomes. Additionally, your proficiency in liaising and negotiating with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, will be invaluable to the role. 

You will also have:

  • Undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, as well as independently when required.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral including a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and organise efficiently, as well as manage competing priorities within a dynamic environment for the purpose of positive organisational outcomes.
