(Level B) $107,276 - $126,894 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

The School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences is expanding its team and have 2 unique opportunities available for continuing Education Specialists at either Level B or Level C. Both positions will be in the area of Computer Science.

In this role the successful candidates will be joining a large, diverse team of experts, delivering high-quality content and support to students and play an integral part of their University learning.

The successful candidates will demonstrate a high level of teaching expertise and the ability to provide positive student feedback through the use of innovative strategies. Successful candidates will be well versed in teaching pedagogy that delivers outstanding results for students in a collaborative and dynamic learning environment. The roles may include online course development and delivery through University partners, converting existing material and developing new material for the School’s undergraduate and Masters programs.

To be successful at Level B we are seeking:

  • PhD in computer science, computer science education, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent qualification and experience. 
  • Ability to teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels the fundamentals of computer science as well as one or more of the specialisations of operating and distributed systems, project courses, web and database computing, and cybersecurity. 
  • Commitment to the use of evidence-based pedagogies that promote student engagement. 
  • Experience in online and blended course development and delivery. 
  • Student-focussed approach to education. 
  • Record of success in delivering quality teaching at the tertiary level and responsibility as course coordinator. 
  • Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the School community. 

To be successful at Level C we are additionally seeking:

  • Commitment to the use of evidence-based pedagogies that promote student engagement. 
  • Expertise in online and blended course development and delivery. 
  • Student-focussed approach to education. 
  • Substantial record of success in delivering quality teaching at the tertiary level and responsibility as course coordinator. 
  • Record of publications or other scholarly activity demonstrating leadership and impact in scholarship of learning and teaching.
