Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Assistant Director of Athletic Development for the Seahawk Club is a member of a team of development and advancement professionals within a dynamic and growing athletics program. Under the direct leadership of the Executive Director of the Seahawk Club, the Assistant Director will:
  • Develop and execute targeted strategies to increase alumni and friend giving with a gift level concentration of $1,000 to $10,000
  • Advance active proposals for a portfolio of assigned prospects
  • Strive to meet and surpass solicitation activity metrics
  • Track solicitation progress through Advancement and Athletics prospect management systems
  • Develop and execute targeted strategies for sport specific giving groups
  • Interact with prospects and donors
  • Coordinate effective employee and student giving programs
  • Assist in leading sport specific giving projects
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships across campus to ensure fundraising activities are coordinated with other university advancement professionals and initiatives
  • Interact with athletic department staff, Seahawk Club Board of Directors, alumni, parent donors, friends, of the program, students, athletic season ticket holders, and local/regional businesses to coordinate programs, solicit support, and steward current donors
  • Conduct responsibilities with extreme professionalism while maintaining strict confidentiality of personal, financial, and personnel information
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year of professional-level, direct solicitation/fundraising experience
  • Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising including event planning
  • Ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, and creative problem-solving skills
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Ability to assess and interpret the needs and wishes of prospective donors and translate these into effective action plans
  • Demonstrated ability to work interdependently and independently in a collaborative environment is vital
  • Demonstrated passion for service excellence, integrity, a positive outlook, commitment to the highest standard of donor ethics, a strong work ethic, self-motivated, and commitment to high performance and dedication to the value of higher education
  • Professional fundraising experience in a Division I university environment
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or communications
