Job Description

Under administrative direction, provides coaching and administrative assistance for the Home Base Warrior Health and Fitness Program. Assists in the planning and directing of recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of program participants . Promotes Home Base Warrior Health and Fitness as an integral part of the military connected community. Monitors participant performance in furthering the success of the program.

Salary Range

$48,620 - $65,000 per year; DOE


Essential Duties

  • Design, implement and supervise fitness training programs for service members, veterans and their families from various backgrounds.  
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of participants for Warrior Health and Fitness program.
  • Assist in evaluating and monitoring participant progress throughout the program.  
  • Educate participants on strength and conditioning practices, exercise technique and health and fitness goal setting.
  • Participate in public relation activities which are designed to promote the Warrior Health and Fitness Program.
  • Keep weight room clean and organized at all times.  
  • Collaborate with nutrition staff, wellness staff and program directors to ensure effective communication and a unified approach.  
  • Perform other administrative duties pertaining to the program as assigned by the Home Base Wellness Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years prior coaching experience at the college/university, Elite club, or Professional level; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of military culture
  • Experience with REDCap or other online data management systems
  • Knowledge and experience with exercise testing
  • Evidence of being NSCA-CSCS Certified
  • Evidence of CPR/AED certified

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk/run moderate distances to perform work
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
