We are seeking a Senior Director of Philanthropy for our Creighton College of Arts and Sciences (CCAS) and College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE).  In this role, you will build a pipeline of philanthropic support through interaction with alumni, friends, and benefactors of Creighton University. Responsibilities include major gift cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of established donor portfolio, as well as new donors to Creighton University. This will be accomplished through phone calls, emails, letters, and personal visits.  The Senior Director will carry his/her own portfolio of alumni/donors specifically for the CCAS and CPCE. This position will solicit annual gifts, major gifts, estate gifts and campaign-specific gifts for the CCAS, CPCE and other university priorities.

 


Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of prospects to support the projects and priorities of the CCAS and CPCE.
  • Closing annual, major and estate gifts will the primary focus, as well as building a prospect pipeline.
  • Be present and involved with the CCAS, CPCE and serve as the primary University Relations development partner to the deans.
  • Work with Prospect Management to identify CCAS and CPCE prospects to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward.

 


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years experience of demonstrated successful fundraising preferred. Comparable experience will be considered.
  • Experience in a college or university environment and a national campaign environment helpful. Knowledge of and commitment to the field of education a plus.
  • Experience soliciting and closing six-figure gifts a plus.
  • Must be comfortable discovering and pursuing new prospects and leads.
  • Strategic thinker with superb organizational, verbal and writing skills.
  • Outgoing and positive interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively or independently in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative, tenacity, strong results orientation, entrepreneurial mindset, and proven track record in setting and achieving ambitious goals.
  • Must exhibit professionalism, integrity, and excellent judgment.
  • Ability to operate both autonomously and collegially in a directed team effort.
  • Appreciation and understanding of Creighton University's mission and the ability to effectively communicate it.
  • Familiarity with Advance, Blackbaud or comparable fundraising database.
  • Ability to travel nationally for events and prospect visits.
