Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Description:

This position reports directly to the Finance Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME). The primary function of this position is to manage all aspects of hospital billing and GME reimbursement. It involves meeting with and serving as liaison to a variety of stakeholders both within and outside of the University. This includes approximately 90 different medical specialties and subspecialties in the School of Medicine as well as approximately thirteen affiliated hospitals.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct hospital billing process.
  • Monitor resident assignments to ensure the educational and training requirements of each program are adequately funded by affiliate hospitals.
  • Meet with programs, hospital affiliates, and GME administration as necessary to make recommendations for adjustments.
  • Oversee GME budget.
  • Develop financial plans and analysis that link expenses to GME's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee and approve all position authorization requests and job data changes.
  • Analyze national and regional trends to determine ways to keep our University competitive in stipends, benefits, and educational offerings.
  • Stay abreast of Medicare rules for hospital reimbursement and proactively implement processes that assure that the University is in compliance and that our hospitals are able to maximize reimbursement of both direct and indirect graduate medical education expenses.
  • Prepare data for hospital IRIS submission as well as procurement of malpractice insurance, disability, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in business, finance or related field.
  • Ten years of related experience, and proficient with medhub and Workday.

  • Ability to analyze and consolidate data metrics to present in clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control are required.
  • High levels of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality information within strict timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with a variety of people and organizations both inside and outside the University.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Target Compensation Maximum:

$110,400.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$73,600.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
