Job Description:

The Assistant Track & Field Coach is responsible for assisting both programs in all aspects of administration and operation of a competitive Division I collegiate track and field and cross-country program

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop programs for and coordinate the recruitment and scholarship of student-athletes;
Plan and conduct practice/competition activities for an NCAA Division I program;
Manage student-athlete skill development and performance analysis;
Administer the operational budget;
Monitor academic advisement and progress of student-athletes;
Represent the university in any local, regional, or national meetings that pertain to men's and women's cross country and track and field.
Abide by and comply with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the Department of Athletics and University.
Ability to effectively interact with various people in a manner that positively portrays the University, its programs, and its personnel.
Promote a culture of inclusion, working effectively within a culture of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations.
Assist in the organization of sports information materials.
Contribute to the overall success of the university's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work is performed in an indoor/outdoor environment.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
  • One to three years of related experience
  • Successful coaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division I rules
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USA Track and Field rules
  • Personal athletic experience in either cross country and/or track and field preferred.
