Job Description

The Project Coordinator Research will work closely with members of the research team and other stakeholders, contributing to the effective implementation of projects focused on children in the context of families, schools, or other organizations. This may involve planning, directing, organizing, coordinating, and executing project activities to ensure timely and successful completion of project goals.

Salary Range

$21.61 - $30.00 per hour; DOE


Essential Duties

  • Contribute to planning for, implementing, and monitoring research and community projects related to children’s relationships and well-being 
  • Help with engagement of schools, teachers, families, and/or children for projects
  • Prepare materials related to projects
  • Work with schools, teachers, families, and/or children to collect data 
  • Assist with management of data
  • Document timelines, progress, and outcomes
  • Attend project meetings
  • Other responsibilities might include conducting literature reviews, helping incubate new ideas, and contributing to the presentation and dissemination of project findings 
  • Attend relevant team meetings and participate in discussions
  • Contribute to a positive work environment
  • Establish good communication with Institute faculty, staff, students, affiliates, and community members
  • Demonstrated ability to work with youth in family, school, and/or afterschool settings
  • Experience with research methods in the family and developmental sciences
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills 
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for applying your knowledge and experience to address important social issues related to children’s development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working on a child-focused research project preferred.
  • Preference for Bachelor’s degree in any area related to child and family sciences (e.g., Family and Human Development, Psychology).
  • Experience with data software such as Excel or SPSS preferred.

Working Environment

  • Activities may be performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse. Activities may also be performed in community settings, involving standing, walking, bending, and transporting project items.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
