Job Description

The Program Coordinator will work 100% FTE with the Off-Campus Relations teams performing day-to-day responsibilities for the implementation of the “Off-Campus Communities Build Your Best You” program to prevent alcohol and other drug misuse within the communities surrounding ASU campuses in the Phoenix Metro area.

Specific responsibilities include developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with on and off-campus partners to serve off-campus students for ongoing program input, and working collaboratively with ASU Wellness to ensure ASU and city substance misuse prevention strategies are being implemented.

Assist with the implementation and evaluation of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) grant to prevent alcohol and other drug misuse. Assists with program logistics, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs as outlined in the grant proposal.

The position is 100% grant funded and contingent on grant funding.

This position requires a flexible working schedule in order to accommodate projects and initiatives (evening and weekend hours on occasion). Reliable transportation is needed.

Salary Range

$48,017 per year


Essential Duties

  • Works in conjunction with OCR team members and community partners to build effective programming for students who reside off-campus.
  • Recommends resources for each programming event as needed or required and performs tasks related to the events such as tracking event attendance, as well as event follow-up and post-assessment.
  • Prepares periodic reports, presentations of program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
  • Develops, compiles, and writes communications and promotional literature for distribution such as newsletters, social media posts and website content or flyers; coordinates process from development through printing and distribution.
  • Conference travel and presentations of grant work may be required.
  • Develops and maintains marketing efforts to drive student engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Six years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of health education, public health, and student development.
  • Evidence of being CHES Certified.
  • Experience in relationship building with internal and external partners.
  • Evidence in effective communication.
  • Experience in public speaking/training facilitation.
  • Experience with planning and implementing training programs.
  • Supervision experience of event/programming management.
  • Experience working on grant funded projects.
