Postdoctoral Position in Department of Pharmacology, Yale School of Medicine

Updated: about 4 hours ago
Location: New Haven, CONNECTICUT
Deadline: The position may have been removed or expired!

Funded by a new interdisciplinary team science program from the NIH, we seek postdoctoral applicants with a passion to understand how membrane composition directs membrane protein structure and function. The successful candidate will link their work with the seven primary laboratories in the team (Kathryn Ferguson, Joel Butterwick, Kallol Gupta, Daryl Klein, Yansheng Liu, Wei Mi and Joseph Schlessinger), based in one – or a subset of – these groups. The overarching goal is to develop and apply innovative approaches to study structure and function of integral membrane proteins (IMPs) in their native environments. A key expertise that we seek to bring to our team is the use CRISPR approaches to facilitate quantitative analysis of the native environment (lipid & proteins) of select endogenously expressed IMPs.

The Postdoctoral Associate will have the opportunity to gain or expand expertise in top-down and bottom-up mass spectrometry (MS), studies of protein dynamics, multi-omic analysis, optical imaging, biochemistry, and cell signaling. The team science environment will provide strong mentoring and support to pursue independent directions.

The successful candidate will have completed or will soon complete their PhD degree and possess a strong motivation to perform interdisciplinary team science in the field of membrane proteins.

Postdoc compensation and benefits will be according to Yale policies. More information about salaries and other resources can be found at https://postdocs.yale.edu/postdocs.

If interested, please send CV, a cover letter detailing past and future research interests, and names of 2-3 references to [email protected].
