Job Description:

BHCC is committed to supporting students as they build skills and explore new careers. The Learn and Earn program provides students with paid internship opportunities in corporate and small businesses as well as civic and cultural organizations.

The Part-Time Learn and Earn Coordinator reports to the Director of Internships and Career Development and coordinates, along with other staff in the area, programming within the Learn and Earn Program.

The Part-Time Learn and Earn Coordinator will coordinate the full support cycle for Learn and Earn Internship students, including faculty outreach, employer relations, internship placement, student preparation, student and employer evaluations, internship paperwork/legal agreements, and report management. The person in this role will actively advance equity and access for all students related to career development opportunities and access to high-quality internships.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage recruitment and placement of students in Learn and Earn Internships.
  • Identify possible internship host sites.
  • Partner with faculty to support logistics of site placements and student reporting.
  • Develop and coordinate internship site agreement creation, processing, and execution.
  • Advance equity and access for all students related to career development opportunities and access to high-quality internship opportunities.
  • Demonstrate and promote a high level of strength-based student service.  Create and support an environment that enhances positive value-added relationships and learning. Develop and maintain a culture that supports student success and the mission of the Internships and Career Development Area.
  • Provide support, as needed, to other initiatives in the Internships and Career Development Department.
  • Maintain accurate student records in appropriate software to ensure compliance of policies and procedures for the College
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all student record information and submitted documentation to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Stay abreast of industry trends to allow for the development of innovative programming.
  • Engage in campus-wide equity initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three years of experience and/or training in any combination of career counseling, program management, human resource management, recruitment, marketing, and public relations or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to effectively market and represent a program to employers and students.
  • Collaborative, self-directed, outcomes-oriented, and strong customer service presence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative thinking, and communication skills.
  • Evidence of relationship-building or project-management skills.
  • Attention to detail; ability to learn and utilize new internet-based recruiting and computer technologies.
  • Ability to relate and understand the needs of a diverse student population and work effectively with a broad range of internal and external constituents.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.


Additional Information:

Salary: $32.00/hr. @ 18.5/hrs. week

This is a hybrid position
