The Office of Physical Plant, Department of Engineering Services is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer experienced in the design, specification, operation, and maintenance of medium voltage distribution, building power, metering, and lighting systems. In addition to leading the Electrical Engineering team within the department, the person will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of standards for the design and construction of the University’s electrical systems. The successful candidate will have experience with some or all of the following: supervising a team of electrical engineers, preparation of special studies, written reports and project scoping documents, review of designs for renovation and major construction projects, development of design and construction standards, implementation of safety protocol and preventative maintenance procedures. Coordinate with design professionals, user representatives, project managers and technical staff on requirements for new construction, renovation, repairs and corrective measures. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Registration as a Professional Engineer or the ability to become registered within one year is required. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job responsibilities. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background check.
