Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The temporary employee will complete a variety of projects/tasks in a support role to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness: This position will include using multiple instruments and methodologies to assist with assessment and research functions that support instructional effectiveness and UNCW accreditation. Responsibilities include analysis and reporting of data, development of presentations and training; and providing project management support for projects. This position requires someone who is detailed oriented and produces professional, high-quality deliverables.
Essential functions of the position include:
• Uses multiple assessment tools and research methodologies to collect, code and analyze data
• Determine correlations and trends that impact course, program, and institutional performance
• Interpret and translate data to create meaningful reports appropriate to the audience using charts, graphs, statistical applications, and/or data visualization software
• Conduct survey administrations and research studies to support institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes assessment
• Assist in a variety of assessment and evaluation activities to support continuous improvement
• Communicates with faculty through email, phone calls, and Zoom
• Tracks progress and updates project management software
• Prepare research reports as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, Statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R)
Availability to work face-to-face in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness; 15-29 hours a week
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy
• Strong grammar and writing skills
• Strong critical thinking and analytic skills
• Proficient in MS Excel and other statistical software to transform the data and conduct analysis
• Demonstrated ability to develop presentations from diverse data sources
• Strong technical skills/experience: Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Acrobat, Statistical software
• Ability to work independently and in a highly participative team environment
• Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills
• Excellent administrative skills and customer service skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with others
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
