Job Summary:

Under general supervision of a licensed care giver, The Mental Health Worker (MHW) delivers patient care and performs basic procedures for an assigned group of patients. Assists patients with activities such as eating, walking, and personal hygiene. Records and reports vital signs and dispenses/retrieves patient care supplies He/she maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.

The MHW can identify the ability of the adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient to follow directions/instructions. The MHW can identify safety concerns in the age-related population and institutes additional measures to provide a safe environment; and identify developmental milestones in the age related population.


A minimum of one (1) year previous experience as a Licensed CNA in an acute care facility, (hospital or medical center strongly preferred) or long-term-care hospital (convalescent, skilled nurse facility or physical rehabilitation center): Preferred.

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) by the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross: Required

Valid California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification: Required
